Who’s Fighting for You?

I’m urging you to watch this and to pay attention to who is fighting for you: fighting for you in your community, fighting for you in the media,  fighting for you in the political arena.

Even when they have the opinion that people in the media or politics are liars, when do you see mainstream media news hosts literally stand up for their truth the way you see Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks did @ the ‪#‎RNCinCLE‬?

As a solo operation now coming into my own, I don’t yet make a lot. As a left wing Libertarian, I don’t see eye-to-eye with The Young Turks on everything. But despite those 2 things, I choose to support progressive indie media by paying for membership to the TYT Network. I do that because The Young Turks keep it real (look at how Cenk doesn’t pretend to like Alex Jones, even as he shakes his hand in a civil way) and they care about people. They fight for people.

I’m not saying this to make you support the TYT Network (although you should if you’re a progressive and want to contribute to better journalism!). I’m telling you so that you can start looking for who fights for you and go have their back.

Let me be clear: I’m not encouraging violence. In fact, I’m dovish and Cenk is a huge proponent of nonviolence. What I’m encouraging is courage and truth-seeking in media and journalists sharing actual news on things they actually believe in. I’m encouraging journalists keeping it real and I’m encouraging supporting the people who fight for you.

If you already have an idea, let me know: who’s fighting for you (person or organization) and how you do have their back?
